I just bought this game in a bundle and it will be the first I try with a group of friends! We all can't wait to start... I'll be leaving a rec after the first session, but let me tell you that this game was the perfect thing we were looking for. We are a group of friends who don't live near each other and with a very varied gaming background and Occulteas was perfect since we all love magic and tea and we were looking for an occasion to see each other online! Easy to understand even for people who never played before but very inspiring for those with experience! I reccomend it wholeheartedly ♥
Occulteas is a game about being witches and running your own tea shop and listening to the needs of your customers!
This game is pretty loose with the rules and the game is designed where you can play it as a stand alone or as a game within a game. You don’t need any randomizers unless you want to use the tables, which the game makes very clear are optional.
You first make your characters, decide where the teashop is, and what sort of teas you brew. You also have the option of adding anything extra to the shop, like food, divination, or even merch.
I played as a sole proprietor of a shop in a small marshy town where she would only brew one type of tea a day and would only say what type when it opened. She also offered single card tarot reading when people ordered their drink.You can find it Here
I've been playing Occulteas for just over a month as a solo journaling game. I love tea and I'm a witch so it's perfect for me! Not all the characters understand why they have to pay a corvid but they do it anyway. It's a whimsical little world! I get to create tea blends and think of snacks to go with them. I've added a menu of services (tea comes with each item - you can't just buy a cup of tea). I found a list of tea leaf symbols and numbered it so I can roll for that whenever a character orders a tea leaf reading. I'll be playing this for a long time!

‘Occulteas’ is a lovely game to read with such a cozy feel. It is also very thoughtful. The game includes charts to roll for setting, ideas on what to include in the tea shop and ways to expand your experience with the game which lends itself to a lot of replay-ability as it is open to various uses and set up.
I could tell that a lot of love and attention went into creating this game. This game is very friendly for all levels of players and really is a lot of fun.
My session of ‘Occulteas’ with my players was a blast and a hit! Game-play maintains that same level of coziness that is set up in the tone of the writing. My players were very happy with this game and the session was filled with a lot of collaborative narrative, laughter, creative game-play, and warmth. At the end of the session, everyone left feeling rejuvenated and wanting to play again. We are definitely going to be playing again at some point soon.
